Jakarta, hundreds of high school students will surprise visitors some shopping this weekend. Secretly, the teenager will appear in a crowd and then swayed for a moment, taking off his shirt one by one as a form of caring for AIDS.
One of the actions of the teenagers featured in the Grand Indonesia Mall, Saturday (10/12/2011). About 100 young men and women suddenly appeared in the middle of traffic passing vehicles and the crowd of visitors who want to cross from East Mall to West Mall and vice versa.
At exactly 17:10, the teenagers were forming a line in three points which are all located just below the bridge between East Mall to West Mall. Accompanied by a medley of music combining several songs into one, the students then dance for about 5 minutes.
Around the 4th minute, one by one student and then release the shirt can be distinguished from other visitors. When removing shirts, compact students shouting “I’m Proud I Know” to increasingly attract the attention of visitors who initially was somewhat indifferent.
Students demonstrate a stretcher on the middle of a flash mob dance, the dance of mass action undertaken by surprise in a short time. The difference with usual flash mob, after dancing the students did not disperse but immediately handed out t-shirts and brochures about Imunne Acquired Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
“Teenagers make us care about AIDS campaign target because the amount is very large. In addition, people with HIV (Human Imunodeficiency Virus) mainly infected through drug most are teenagers,” said Dr. Lily S Sulistyowaty, Head of Health Promotion Center of Ministry of Health when found in between the sidelines of the flash mob dance.
Besides held at Grand Indonesia, flash mob dance performed by hundreds of high school students also performed in four other major malls in Jakarta. The four malls are Senayan City, Plaza Senayan, Coconut Mall and Mall Taman Ivory Orchid.
Hundreds of men and women students who were involved in a series of events held between 10-11 December 2011 is derived from four high schools in Jakarta, each represented by 100 students. All four are high school CPC Sower, Tarakanita SMA, SMA 54 and SMA 81.
