Adoption is The Better Alternative to Abortion!

     It has been argued that there are some very good reasons for having an abortion. I will concede that in the case where to have the child would kill both the mother and the child, that yes, abortion may be the only option. However, many have also said that in the case of rape or incest that abortion is the only option as well. This is wrong. Opinion polls on this topic have revealed (according to Victims and Victors), that 94% of rape victims and 100% of incest victims said abortion was not a good option for other women in their situation. While it looks at first that a woman who have been raped having an abortion would be the kindest thing for them, if you listen to these women, it is not what they want at all. To give birth to the child, the women can reclaim some of what was lost in the rape. In giving birth, then giving the child up for adoption, the woman displays courage, strength and honor. It is proof that she is better than the rapist. Where he was selfish and destroyed, she was generous and delivered life.

     If a woman or girl finds themselves in a situation where they are pregnant and cannot or will not be able to care for a child. Adoption is the better alternative to abortion. Abortion is what many women who have been through it had called ‘medical rape’, but also because the baby growing inside that person did not ask for this, but they do have the right to live once they have been conceived. There may be such a thing as an ‘unwanted pregnancy’, however, there is no such thing as an ‘unwanted child’. There are families out there who desperately want a child and are unable to have a child on their own. Adoption is the better alternative to abortion.

     Adoption is a great gift, Abortion is a great selfishness. While it has been agreed that in the case of certain death to the mother and the child to carry, that abortion is necessary, abortion is not a form of birth control. A growing child inside a body deserves the right to live as much as any other human does. If you are not mature enough, or are unwilling or unable to care for a child yourself, consider adoption, not abortion. The alternative to all this is consider your age, consider your maturity level, and consider your lifestyle. If you are not ready for a child, think before you choose to have sex. Use protection to avoid having an unwanted pregnancy. If you find yourself in a situation of an unwanted pregnancy, consider adoption.
