African Children
Every child deserves a fighting chance, or so that is what we, in civilized culture, would like to think. But all over the world children are suffering everyday from situations that could be avoided. Why is it that as Americans with so much, we as a whole, give so little? That is a question I hope not only to answer but also to change.
Today there are millions of children around the world that go to bed hunger every night. These children know and live through things that no child should ever have to go through. We talk about how American children are growing up to fast. What about the children who grow up knowing nothing but fear and pain? What about the children, who at very young ages, get weapons put in their hands and are forced to kill other human beings? That to me is growing up way to fast. All the suffering that these children go through is a fact that we can change. By opening up our eyes and lending our voices to children that can not speak for themselves.
In Africa today millions of people are being killed or displaced from their homes. Though we may hear about this every now and then, what are we really doing about it? If these sorts of atrocities were happening in America or Europe, I know that this would not be something that would be overlooked in the news, nor would people just stand by and let it happen. There would be a huge out cry about the injustice, and the proper actions would be taken to stop any sort of human rights violation. But not for the children al over the world who everyday wake up knowing that today will be no different from yesterday and tomorrow holds no hope for change.
Every day these helpless kids go through life knowing nothing other then pain and fear. We as Americans have so many advantages, that we could help these children so much. Most of the families in Africa survive on less then seventy dollars a month, by giving anything, even only a dollar, you can help change a child’s life. There are many reliable charities that you can go through to help improve the lives of these children’s lives. But if you are not able to give any monetary help, please tell every one that you know to be outraged by the horrible state of our world. By just raising awareness of the injustice that many children face every day, may help, someday change the lives of these children.
