Alternative Fuel – a National Security Issue

The one thing Americans hate, is high gas prices. Gas prices take money out of our wallet. When you squeeze the trigger at the pump you are dishing out money that goes up into the atmosphere. Money that gets burned. Not only that, high gas prices increase the cost to ship things, such as the food at the grocery store, the clothes on your back, and just about anything that is made.
The countries in the middle east do not like the United States. They have no problem asking for our protection, example is Kuwait, but they also do not have a problem joining together to raise the price of a barrel of oil for their profit. Some of this money, in turn, gets turned over to some factions that would just like to see us disappear from the planet. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sick of funding the bad guys and watching the price at the pump jump around like a kangaroo from day to day. All it takes is for some rogue country, like Iran, to shut down the straight with some attacks & the world’s gas prices will shoot off the chart. I can’t afford that – this country can’t afford that. We would, no doubt, be involved in a another war because of it.
How do we stop this cycle from happening. The technology is basically there to get this country off of foreign oil. It just needs a kick in the pants to get it going. Washington need to open this up by offering “incentives” that are much more appealing than what they have done so far. Lets offer Detroit automakers a “no tax” incentive for a few years & watch how fast they can come up with something in order to get that deal. Lets offer gas stations a tax break for installing a charging station at the pumps. Lets decide on something and run with it! What is the best alternative to gasoline? If we can fund studies on why fish swim, why can’t we get to the bottom of a alternative fuel to replace gasoline?
Wake up America, its time to take control and return to the greatest nation on the planet, or wither away our finances and security to the middle east.
