Hybrid cars vs. regular.

Gasoline prices have been down as of recently, its happen many times already, they might go back up again with the economy breaking down, but overall I don’t think its going to go as high as many people have been saying it might go. Cars shouldn’t operate from another source than gasoline, because to every advantage there are disadvantages. Many people say its the way to go, but these hybrid cars are not yet perfected, they have many faults and defects. These hybrid cars can be more expensive, they are new and untested, and have faults such as slow acceleration, high voltage, and they’re lightweight.

Hybrid cars really don’t save you loads of money like many people say, you may save on gas but you might end up paying much more for other things. Hybrids cost anywhere from $2,000 to $5,000 more than their fuel only counterparts. The price tag for these hybrid cars generally cost more because of the cars motor battery pack. Maintenance costs for hybrid cars will cost more because because they will be hard to find. Also, Some states will start charging additional fees for registration for these hybrid cars.
Hybrid cars are new and untested making it harder to be worked on by less experienced mechanics. These Hybrid cars have an electric motor that require battery packs to run, its new technology and have a complicated system. Spare parts for the hybrid motor are still new and are scarce so many parts will be hard to find. Because of the complicated system of the hybrid engine it will take some time for a solution to come up.
Hybrid cars have many faults that have not yet been perfected, these faults range from non-lethal to very dangerous. These hybrid cars have the battery packs in their engine, these battery packs are pretty heavy, this results in slow acceleration, they are not as quick, making it difficult for drivers to keep up with other vehicles on the highway. another fault is that these hybrid motors has excessive voltage that requires charge to prepare to be used. In the even of a serious accident the driver can be exposed to high voltage wires and could cause further harm. Except for the battery packs, these hybrid cars are generally light weight, they are more likely to be in an accident. Heavy winds could knock these cars off of track. Also, in the even of a collision with other cars, hybrid cars are more likely to spin out more easily.

Hybrid cars may save you money on gas, but with other expenses such as maintenance, in the end your not saving as much as you may think. I just feel either way, whichever source you use, it’s going to cost money, it’s going to cost equally if not more than it would with a non-hybrid car. I’m not necessarily against these hybrid cars, I’m just saying I don’t think I would purchase one.
