America and Racism
Racism denial is a bigger problem in America than we think.
If someone asked me if racism really exist in America, the obvious answer would be yes. Sometimes I wonder why people here are so racist. I know it is mostly because of their upbringing and the cultural view of their community, but is this good reason to hate another. We all are individually different and alike in many ways regardless of the color of our skin and some are more alike than others; so why hate? Why hate another human being because of the color of their skin and the heritage they come from.
Here in America, when we here the word racism or a racist person, we automatically assume a white person being racist to a black person or “vice versa” because of its history. Now does racism really exist? In a
2006 CNN poll
being a problem in America, most said that it is a problem while few think they are racist themselves. My view of this is, racism is really a big problem in America but many try denying the fact that it still exist. It only makes the problem worse.
The more I notice people denying that racism exists, the more determine I am in believing that it does. I browsed espn.com’s message board during a recent discussion about the Michael Vick case and I notice many people arguing about racism in America. I notice the anger in some of the readers denying it because they believe that blacks hate whites when things go wrong on their side, for instance, the Mike Vick Case or O.J. Simpson Trial.
Some white readers on the board even believe the N-word is just a word and blacks use the word more but also get upset when another race use it. Many white readers wonder why it is acceptable for blacks to use the word and not others. Well for other races, it has to be harder for you to understand, no matter how much someone tries to explain it. For me, the N-word is not just a word and it’s not ok for blacks to use it, but more understandable. When other races use the word, from my experiences it is being used for what it was determined to be, which the entire black culture is is just ignorant and stupid. When most blacks use the word, it’s being used in a more slang version of “what’s up” or “my dog”, etc.
With all this being said, America endure as a racist country but it’s about as free as we all are going to get, so lets just make the best out of it.

I agree with everything you said except the last paragraph. the N-word soudln’t be discssed because its cause like whites discriminating each other, but they don’t like it when blacks or asian or any other race does it to them. Racism is towards everybody. : )
