America…how Do We Make It Better?

Just a couple of things that are wrong with this country.

I often find myself sitting and thinking about what’s wrong with this country and how it can be fixed.  Due to the atheist agenda, the homosexual agenda, the Hollywood agenda and the political correctness we must display in dealing with these groups, we are so far morally off course I don’t think we can ever find our way back, but that’s for another article.

I want to touch on the financial aspect…which thinking about it, could also come back to a moral issue.  Let me begin by stating that I’m not a fan of big government but someone or something needs to step in and save us, sometimes from ourselves, if that’s even possible.

Unemployment and health care are big concerns in this country.  One out of every ten people are out of work, not to mention the people who are working but still can’t pay their bills because they are far underemployed.  The government is currently trying to reform health care to provide all Americans who don’t have coverage affordable care.  To me that just sounds like creating more customers for the insurance industry.  What is that going to do for me?  My wife and I work and pay over $300 per month for our employer provided, least expensive policy choice, which doesn’t include the deductibles and hefty co-pays we shell out.  And currently the insurance company hasn’t paid their portion of an $11,000 bill for a necessary, non- preexisting condition surgery that my wife had back in July.  In fact, based on correspondence and telephone calls with them, they are trying everything in their power to not pay for it and have the total bill fall on us.  That’s the kind of business I need; take people’s money and then when it comes time to provide a product or service, just don’t give it to them with no consequences or repercussions.  Recently I knew someone who took their nine year old son to the emergency room for a cut on his chin.  Four stitches amounted to a $2000 bill.  The doctor’s portion was $800.  It took him fifteen minutes to stitch the kid’s chin.  You mean to tell me this doctor charges $3600 per hour?!  This we need to be rescued from.  This needs to be regulated.
