Animal Testing: Should It be Made Illegal or Not?

An article about animal testing.

Hi there. I thought I might make this article showing the contrasts between the opinion that animal testing should be made illegal or shouldn’t.

The following opinions are not mine at all. In fact I am neutral on this subject as I find that it depends what the product is and how it would be used.

Three Arguments Against Animal Testing.

Cruelty

Animal testing is wrong and should be made illegal because, if the product doesn’t work or isn’t made properly, then it may harm the animals. This might include burning their skin, making fur fall out and not grow back, making them seriously ill or even poisoning them.

Long term symptoms.

Animal testing is wrong and should be made illegal because, if the product has a perfect effect on the animal that it was tested on. It might be mass produced and shipped out as soon as it has been tested. But then later on the animal may start suffering from later symptoms of the product after plenty of people have bought it and used it, affecting them as well.

Different affects on different creatures.

Animal testing is wrong and should be made illegal because, the product may have been tested on a goat and might have worked perfectly. But just to make sure the company might have also tested the product on a rabbit. The product still worked perfectly, so they mass produced it and sent it out all over the world. But when the product is bought and used by a customer, it may have irritating, or even lethal effects. The product would have worked on the animal but not on the human.

Three Arguments In Favour Of Animal Testing

Protecting humans.

Animal testing is good and should always be allowed because, if a product was tested on a person and the product didn’t work but in fact had the opposite affect, or even an affect that wasn’t expected, the person the product was tested on might be seriously harmed, or even killed. But if this was an animal instead of a person it wouldn’t matter as much because, it would be more important to protect our own species.

Loss of Pharmaceutical Industry And Jobs.

Animal testing is good and should always be allowed because, Britain is the world’s leading exporter in pharmaceuticals, and would lose out on a lot of potential gain and many thousands of jobs, if it were to disappear abroad, as a result of continuous attacks against it’s employees.

UK Law.

Animal testing is good and should be allowed because, in the UK all new prescription medicines have to be tested on animals before they can be legally sold and/or consumed.

So as you can see this is a very delicate subject and can go either way when it comes to arguments or debates. This shows that there are many different opinions and none of them are necessarily right or wrong.

If you are wondering why I bothered to write this article it is because there are always arguments going on in the world and I’m just trying to show that it isn’t really the right thing to do as it can just go on and on and on. I also wrote this content because I really want these arguments to stop so that everyone can concentrate on what really matters, like disease and poverty.

Nice article mate. If in the the worst case scenario, a human being may kill a fellow human, there should be no reason to bring out topic on animal cruelty. My concern is if the end purpose would be for survival concerns(as in cure for disease), however if a thousand monkeys should be massacred to justify a beauty elixir to make humans attractive, that should be a waste of time. Nice topic.

I don’t believe it is necessary to torture animals in order to experiment on products that will be used by humans. Who are we to play God with the lives of innocent creatures?

I hate animal testing because humans have different DNA compared to animals. and animals lives are worth as much as humans.
    ITS JUST TOTALLY UNFAIR

sooooo true truee i agree that this nonsense should be put away– what do animals have to do with the way humans look or smell etc. just another thing– you said that it protects humans if something goes wrong with the testing soo why put animals in harms length if it would go wrong with humans???? that trully is unfair and just plain CRUEL….
