Apathy in Society
Many won’t bother to fight for what they believe in. Here is why.
In a country where the standard is still relatively high, whatever it would it take for someone to stir up unrest because parliament was not called on or because the lack of jobs has raised apprehension will never be enough. People are uncomfortable about fighting for that change of their standards are relatively high. One would probably have to be very poor to really want to get anything going of that nature and the numbers are probably not there. Even with the thousands marching for an end to proroguing parliament, that is just a demonstration of dissatisfaction. It is however an indication of change.
Society still has a middle class which acts as a buffer between the rich and poor. One may think of its creation as rather recent and so it disappearance may be equally short but government planners are probably thinking about how that ought to be conserved if at all but to shield the wealthy from the wrath of the under-employed or low wage earner. It is the middle class which like the middleman acts as the manager and conduit of the what wealthier stock holders want to see kept, a money market that remains in their favor. For real change to occur the middle class would have to disappear almost overnight because the shock of such change would be quite sudden and that would be the segment of the population who would have more access to resources for change than the poor person would.
Many in the middle have gone poor but the society has a way of correcting itself so that there would be the better than low wage earners so that economies would continue to drive forward. Obama’s concern now is to create jobs, years after outsourcing to cheap labor markets but one remains hopeful that there is some decency that all would not be sold out to India and China, that something would left over for an economic recovery so that the average America could continue to be as apathetic as before 2007.
The desire not to get involved for real change when the poor are dealing with their issues is also comfort for party planners when it is common knowledge that these citizens need to concentrate on where and how to get their next meal and how to keep that regular. Parliament may just be a formality in constitutional countries but at least it is also an assurance to the poor that they have a voice and can use it to get things such as community assistance. Would that occur if there were violent uprisings against the auspices that promoted the funding of relief or welfare efforts?
Probably not or if there were, organizers would have to have a better plan of how they would maintain economic levels that existed before. It is no ones dream for the socialistic upsurge of the past and the purported existence of equality among the masses when there would still be equality among a select few and the rest would be held in ignorance.
So apathy continues where it takes people a tremendous amount of energy to vote when there are the same politicians around just as corrupt as the ones before. There is a good cue that the heads of state of the world’s strongest nation must put his words into practice, create a viable health care system, revamp the educational system so that his voters will at least begin to see that there is something worthwhile to vote for.
Other than that words can come cheaply and apathy will have further reason to exist.
