Are Some States Going Green?
by I have some on the news how some states are having big buget problems and it is increasingly getting worse. A few states are even considering the legalization of Marijuana use and have done so to a degree of medical use to help them out of their budget problems. The demand and usage is vary high in the U.S. this country spent 43 billion dollars in 2005 fighting it and I am sure this amount has increased considerably since then this is a massive sum of money.
I do not promote the use of or abuse of any drug. But i think Federal government and states should take a hard look at it vs what they are spending trying to control it and in my a pinion not doing that great of a job at it. De- criminalizeit and control it. Let’s say to those people who chose to smoke it. If you wish to do so then it will cost you $ 100-200 dollars for a permit that would allow for that person to use it and grow it for personal use in there homes only. Then they can slap on their list of doe’s and do not. Like do not sell it or use it in public places school zones and impose walking fines for carrying over a certain amount. Just some Examples on regulating it. This would generate a great new source of income for the states and would also help lower their current budgets that they spend on it. By freeing up prison and county jail space by not putting people in their for selling plants but rapist,pedophiles,murders and so forth. Some people will say if we did that it would be used as a gate way drug to harder drugs. I say bull to this because theses harder drugs are already all a round us every day. It come down to chose yes or no and always has i would rather see a roach laying on the sidewalks then a dirty needle. Marijuana does have a lot ofmedical values and more are been discovered. When was the last time you heard about the medical values of alcohol or tobacco for that matter but yet theses two popular drugs kill thousands of lives every day and the big corporations rake in all the green from it. But if people use it let them pay for it but in a way that benefits us not cost us .Just a thought on going Green .
