Are We Seriously Still Fighting Over Abortion Laws?

It really seems to me that most of the individuals who are anti-abortion, really could care less about whether its safe, but they care more about whether it is moral.

As I was driving down I-5 into Tacoma one day, I noticed a person holding a sign on one of the over passes that said “Vote against the Anti-Abortion Laws!”

It peaked my interest greatly, as I was under the assumption that abortion was legal in Washington state. This is one of the things I love so much about this state, pro-choice and civil rights are generally very well respected.

As I went online to try and find out more about this, I was suprised to see that the federal government has been fighting over this issue for so long, and everytime we change political parties, the idea’s change.

For a couple of years, abortion will be ok, its safe, legal and a womans choice to use such a tool. And then there are other years when a woman who chooses to have an abortion is a “baby killer”.

What is with this world? I truly don’t get it.

It really seems to me that most of the individuals who are anti-abortion, really could care less about whether its safe, but they care more about whether it is moral. Especially when it comes to a religious sense.

I find it kind of comical that if they can sway others to believing that it is immoral, than that makes it ok to force those views and beliefs onto other people, and force them to obey them. It sure sounds like religious punishment to me.

However, since most of the courts in the US has pushed religion to the side, and started changing the laws to accept all people, no matter what they believe in, the same religious freaks who said abortion was bad, have now changed their position to calling anyone who wants an abortion into a baby killer. Not only that, but they are not just holding that to the women that make that choice, but they are condemning the doctors that preform the procedures as well.

How is that fair?

What is funny, is that there are of course others who are fighting for more logical views. You want to talk about morals, is it morally right to force a teenager who has gone out and gotten pregnant, to keep the baby? Even if they are not ready, and if it would ruin their hopes for a successful future, or for an education.

What about the women who are criminal or on drugs, and have the high likelyhood of having children born with drug dependencies? Is it moral to FORCE them to have babies, when they know they shouldn’t?

Is it MORAL to say that Congressmen and Judges should alone hold the decision of whether Abortions should be legal, when it is the DOCTORs who know whether it is safe?

When our great green and blue earth is under threat from a human Over-Population, is it right to ban individuals from having an abortion, if that could help stop the over population?

What really bursts my bubble is that our government is still widely controlled by control freaks! Why is it that they feel that the only way to live is to spend their entire lives trying to control what other people do?

Isn’t this why we took the christian systems out of the courts? Is this not why most people are voting pro for gay rights, for womens right and for mens rights?

I tell you, if you ever see any law that inhibits a persons right to make their own choices, when it truth, it hurts no one, vote against it! You never know what laws they will try to pass next, because they are power hungry, and abortion is not the place where it will end.

Hmm. Didn’t the mother choose to use drugs, then get pregnant.
Didn’t the teen choose to have sex. Sex= Risk for Pregnancy

They took the risk and hit the wrong percentage. They made their choice to take the risk. Their fault. Their consequence.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no anti-abortion person. I am of the group that says, “abortion is fine, as long as you make your decision fast” I get pissed at those people who do 7 and 8 month abortions and then when sometimes the babies live, they put them in a room to die. (no I’m not saying this happens a lot, but it has happened before)

It is clear that this topic is never going to be resolved. There are always going to be two sides of this issue. Yes, you are terminating the pregnancy. Yes, it is the womans choice. The Fourteenth Amendment was to support and keep the rights of a citizen. It is a womans right if she wants to support a baby or not. The Government should not get in the way of a womans decision on what she wants to do or not.

It is also clear that you are saying the only reasons why a woman gets pregnant is because she chose to use drugs and chose to have sex. Have you ever thought about all the women who get raped? Is that their fault? Do you really think that they wanted that to happem to them? I don’t think so. I am not trying to say you’re wrong. It is your opinion and I respect that. I was trying to elaborate more on your stance.
