As the Ice Melts

Everything on earth has a balance hot and cold, up and down the Amazon Rain Forest and the Congo Basin to the fault line, to the ice fields and the north and south poles.

As The Ice Melts

The main objective of ice is to cool our planet. If the planets not at a certain temperature it will cause chaos in our weather systems. In recent years unless your five years old you will have noticed that the intensity of the storms are increasing, volume of rain fall has intensified causing world wide flooding, in some other places they are experiencing drought and bush fires. Here is a shining example on the 6th of February 2009 Australia was under the attack of mother nature.

All up the East coast of Australia a fire roared up the coast causing a never before seen event. The scale of this damage was massive and the death toll was nearly 200 people. 200,000 hectares were scorched in its path thousands of people were chased out of their towns some with little hope they would make it out alive. There was a report that four people burned up in a car collision because their vision was bad, and they couldn’t escape because of the flames that roared through the towns and streets. Another report said that a motorcyclist was swept off his motorcycle and burned alive from the winds that carried the flames at 60 mph.

On the west coast of Australia on the same day people were told to be on the look out for crocodiles that infested the floods they were experiencing. Where in the coastal towns and the low lying towns there was water still raising as much as four feet in some towns. Thousands of homes were effected.

As the ice melts all over the world the climate heats up causing bush fires, high winds, flooding and hurricanes and other disasters. The reason is, there is too much carbon in the atmosphere and causing it to bounce off our atmosphere and come straight back at us melting our Ice and causing drought. The trees take in the carbon and release it as oxygen for us to breath. In parts of the world the heat is killing the trees scorching the grass and deserts globally are growing in mass. On the shore lines the sea is attacking the coasts with high waves caused by these storms and erosion of the sea levels rising.

Interesting Steve! Free speech on the internet is a good thing, but you don’t have to listen to those who disregard good manners and who base their thinking on a THEORY which has no evidence to uphold it.
Keep writing mate! the naysayers can hopefully “evolve” into something a bit bigger than the fleas they are :)

I have a feeling that some people have no idea what you are saying. Human activity on earth often have undesirable effects but we have delusions of grandeur to believe we have more affect than the natural scheme of things. This is a fact: No matter what humans do, all things in this world seek neutrality. This is the reason heavy objects fall, avalanches occur, winds subside, volcanos and earthquakes occur. Based on what man knows, the earth has undergone three ice ages throughout it’s time. History always repeats itself, there will be another ice age no matter what humans do.

I have to adamantly disagree with your column.

The so-called evolution happening in lions is not true. Evolution takes thousands of years to occur not 40. The bees are disappearing because of the outrageous use of pesticides on crops, namely corn from which ethanol that accounts for 10% of our gas comes from, and if the left has it their way, 100%.

Ice is a result of cold temperatures, it is not a conscious decision of the earth to create it.

Compared to the rest of the history of this planet we are in a period of abnormally cool temperatures with extremely low CO2 concentrations.

Only the hubris of (wo)man allows us to feel important enough to impact the climate on this planet. If you were to take the time that earth has existed, and overlay it to the diameter of the earth, human existence would roughly make up the distance from Brooklyn to Manhattan. Another way to look at is to say that humans have been around for 0.00067% of the time that earth has been here. Before us the earth experience catastrophic events that far exceed the effects of mild temperature increases caused by CO2 increases.

We’re not that important, in the blink of an eye we could be gone and in another the earth would move on and things would return to a new but natural state.
