At Least Ten Dead in an Attack in Southwestern Pakistan Committed

At least ten people were killed on Wednesday by the explosion of a bomb placed in a car in a parking lot of Quetta, in south-western Pakistan, where el-Fitr prayer Aid, whichcelebrates the end of Ramadan, police said.


Pakistan devastated by a wave of bloody attacks extremelycommitted mainly by Taliban allied with Al Qaeda, but Balucistanprovince, the capital of Quetta, is also a theater and separatistinsurgents frequently targeting minority Shia attacks.

“Nobody has yet claimed responsibility for bombing and allhypotheses are possible, but the bomb exploded in a Shiiteneighborhood,” he told AFP Mohammad Hashim, a police officer in Quetta.

“Balance is now ten dead and 13 wounded,” he told AFP HamidShakil, a police officer. A seven-year-old boy and a woman are among the dead.

“The bomb exploded in a parking lot on the side of a street in acar parked by an unknown person who left the area,” continuedthe officer, citing eyewitnesses.

Eyewitnesses told AFP that several cars were on fire and that ahouse was damaged by blast explosion.
