Be a Positive Thinker in Times of Economic Crisis
It is sad to listen and watch television and radio news and events all around the world. A number of companies alone in the Philippines had closed and another number is closing. Lay-offs are inevitable. These events not only affect ordinary people but capitalists and business owners as well.

What is more mind-boggling and spine-tingling is the effect these events are prompting people to do. Some who are laid-off from their work commit suicide. There is even news that parents massacre the whole family because of depression or the incapability to accept what had happened.
Why do these incidences end up this way when there is always a solution and a resolution to all problems? It would really help to think positively amidst everything that is happening in the world. Taken that one looses a job, it must not be the end of the world because when a door closes another opens. If these simple events have grave effects to some, how much more if a world war breaks? That would really be frightening.
To loose a job is hard to accept for anyone, no exemption. But there is hope to every challenge if we treat it as that. Instead of thinking it’s the end of the world then why not try consider it as a challenge. We all started with nothing, and even those born with a golden spoon in their mouth started with nothing that they can call their own. Hope is the key, do not worry. There is a chance finding another job, another opportunity. Ponder on these things:
- Erase all negative thoughts and focus on positive goals in life. Do not stop looking for another job or opportunity. Continue with your resolution to find another job. Pursue. And because you want to find a job, try and try and be patient. Prepare because one day you will be interviewed. If you do good, you will be hired.
- Submit application to as many companies that you wanted to be employed in. If you can submit to six (6) companies then do so. Update your résumé or curriculum vitae and be particular about your qualifications in your résumé. Revise if needed. Be very sure that your name, address, employment history, telephone number and email address are updated.
- Look for jobs that are urgently needed. Browse through the classified section in newspapers, magazines, and on-line job searches. Though economy is not good, there are still companies that will need your services so do not loose hope.
