In the 1980s and 1990s, Borneo suffered a stunning transition. Forest-clearcut forest to the point that never happened in human history. Borneo rain forest move to industrialized countries like Japan and the United States in the form of furniture for the garden, paper pulp and chopsticks. Initially, most of the wood was taken from the northern island of Borneo, then forests in southern and central island of Borneo.
Today the forests of Borneo are but a shadow of the legends of the past and threatened its sustainability.
