Bullying at Its Worst in America

So I ran into a very peculiar article today about bullying. I’m currently in high school, and three years back, Broward County incorporated the “no bullying” law in all school. At first it seemed somewhat ridiculous, but boy, was I wrong. There is beyond too much bullying all across America, and this story just made me sick.
It’s about a thirteen year old boy getting jumped by, count, seven kids his age or a couple years older. What shocked me the most after seeing the video, was the fact that the little kid was in fact, African-American. I lived surrounded by a heavy population of African-Americans, and in the most random cases, will they be the ones bullied. It’s usually the other way around, in which Caucasians are bullied by African-Americans. After the civil rights movement, this seemed to increase rapidly. But after seeing this video, what more is there to think but that either, race doesn’t matter? Or Caucasians are tired of not being top anymore?
In the article though, the bullied thirteen year old said “he believed he had been targeted because his family is from Liberia.” But he also said, that they do for no reason. So in fact, their reasoning is still uncovered, deep within their conscious.
Another thing that impacted me was the way people would clearly pass by in the video, and do nothing about it, just be ignorant of the injustice of man kind. We complain that there is so much corruption in our families, and communities, but we don’t begin by seeing the corruption within our own self’s.
This clearly symbolizes how much our culture is beginning to change, but it is up to us to take action, figure out what we’ve done wrong, and fix it.
