Burden of Illegal Immigrants on America
Today, almost every developed economy in the world is having problem of illegal immigration. The United States of America is one country that is feeling the burden of illegal immigrants on its economy as well as security.
Menial Jobs and Harsh Conditions
Many of these illegal immigrants upon entry into United States tend to take menial jobs that legal citizens have turned down. Even as they take on the menial jobs; there are reported instances where their employers take advantage of their illegal status to engage them in penal servitude with is against the American law.
These people because of their illegal status tend to obey their employers no matter the kind of inhuman treatment that they are experiencing. Even though the risks are enormous, the trend is still continuing as many more people are still trying to enter the United States illegally.
Few months back the United States President, Barack Obama announced the deployment of more military personnel to the American border with Mexico to curb the menace of drug traffickers and also bring under control the activities of smugglers. The United States has in recent introduced many measures aimed at discouraging illegal immigration.
Today, the issue of illegal immigration continues to be a major source of concern to authorities in America. Apart from the economic burden the trend has created; many illegal businesses going on in United States are said to have the inputs of illegal immigrants who have found their ways into the country unofficially.
Illegal immigration has become a phenomenon affecting every developed economy in the world. That is why nations must unite to address the trend. The affected nations must equally ensure the rapid development of their various countries so as to discourage the trend of illegal immigration.
