Can We Avoid the Effects of Global Warming?

Are we too late to avoid the effects of global warming? Some scientists think so. Others believe we have the abilty to change our environmental future now, one person at a time.

We are seeing the damaging effects of global warming on our eco system for the first time as never before.

Polar ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising in the South Pacific. Canadian forests are being destroyed by the millions of acres, caused by a tree bug that stayed dormant in cooler climates. Hurricanes are more frequent and far more powerful than has been seen in the last 50 years.

Research has proven we are responsible for these climate changes.

Carbon emissions testing of old growth trees in California has found carbon levels in our atmosphere to be at consistent levels until the early 20th century. Since that time, they have steadily climbed every consecutive year to the present, and continue to rise.

Knowing we are responsible for the effects of global warming eases some scientists minds. “If we broke it, we can fix it” is there attitude.

And they are right.

The move to eco awareness has never been more prevalent in our society. More and more people are joining the Green Friendly movement daily to help change the future of our planet.

And it can be done.

Simple daily life changes for the betterment of our future environment is an easy thing to accomplish, if only people understand the math involved to make it happen.

The next time you think your contribution to the environment will be in vain, consider this:

Worldwide there are over 1 million Green Activist living 100% Green.

If you save a gallon of water personally and combined it with theirs, that would equate to a million gallons of water saved daily. (Leave the shower 1 minute early, save 4-8 gallons of water)

If you shut off your TV an hour early, that will be 1 million kilowatts of energy saved daily. (Read a Book)

If you place an aluminum can in a recycle bin, that will be 1 million cans sent to recycle daily. (Or save them and sell the aluminum)

If you clean your home with non toxic cleaners, you and 1 million others will have put “0″ toxic chemicals in our soil, water and atmosphere daily. (Non toxic cleaners clean better and cost less)

If you pick up a piece of scrap paper on the street and put it in a waste bucket, that will be 1 million pieces of trash removed from our environment. (They are everywhere, not hard to spot)

If you drive 45 minutes to work at 75 mph and slow down to 74 miles an hour, you will save 1 million gallons of fuel daily. (Leave 5 minutes early and enjoy the ride, your saving money on fuel)

Just being aware of the need for change and making these changes consistently will help to reverse the negative effects we have placed on our environment, maybe even in our lifetime.

Certainly in our children’s lifetimes.

So, can we avoid the effects of global warming?

Yes..

But, the need for change is now. Do your part and join the movement.

Think Green!
