Caning Children! Is This Child Abuse?

Parents are now talking about a new way to discipline their kids and this form of discipline is caning!

I am completely against this form of punishment. Caning is extremely painful and brutal and causes broken skin from two lashes, passing out from over five lashes and also five or more lashes draws blood. And parents are talking about this caning punishment on their kids like it’s the hottest thing that hit town. Parents are actually ordering this cane to punish their children with!

A ‘cane’ is a long thick stick made of rattan, and it can break the skin with just just one or two lashes.

In my book, this is child abuse.

If I had a kid that acted out, I would not go as far as caning the child or teen ager. I would use different forms of discipline. Like house arrest for a week, and no sweets.

A caning punishment in my opinion, should be only used to severely punish men in prison around the world who have done heinous crimes such as murder, rape, child molestation, drug trafficking, etc. And yes it is done to such criminals.

These men who are guilty of the above crimes should be the only ones to take a caning punishment.

Again in my opinion, caning kids is definately child abuse and barbaric and should be abolished. I would compare caning a youngster,  to be beaten with an ironing cord or an an extention cord. Now those two forms of discipline are out of line, if you ask me.

I have been doing some reaseach on this caning subject and also have watched videos of Judicial caning done on criminals who break the law in Asia and it is extremely graphic and very brutal. It is not for the squeamish.

Even these grown men who have broken the law, cannot take the horrific pain of being caned. They scream and holler in agony.  

They say spare the rod and spoil the child, but they also say, child abuse hurts everybody.

This is only my opinion on this matter.  What is your opinion?
