Cell Phone Radiation – How to Reduce Your Radiation Intake

Most every now a days has a cell phone, but do we truly realize the danger we’re putting ourselves in?

It’s safe to say that most people has had or currently has a cell phone. When the cell phone craze rolled around the public was awed by the technology. Soon, cellular phones started becoming more advanced thus the invention of the smart phone. With features such as Internet access and television and applications, how could anything bad come from them? What most people don’t realise is that when your phone is searching for a signal it is sending out a certain amount of radiation.

Every cell phone has a SAR or Specific Absorption Rate. This is the specific amount of radiation absorbed into your body when you are using a mobile phone. Though a phone may have a high SAR rate, it does not necessarily mean that you are being exposed to this amount. Most phones are designed to use the minimum power level while searching for signal.

So what is the danger? Vulnerable areas of your body are being exposed to radiation during phone usage. When you put your cell phone next to your ear to talk on the phone you are exposing your brain to radiation. Have you ever placed your cell phone in one of your pockets? You’re exposing reproductive and other organs to radiation. The accumulated radiation can lead to numerous health issues. With children receiving cell phones at younger ages when their brains and bodies are still developing, this can be especially dangerous.

How can you reduce the amount of radiation you’re in taking? You can purchase an SAR Shield. It is similar to a sticker with an adhesive backing and a blue and silver front design. It lowers the amount of radiation your phone emits and is approved by the FCC. For $20, it’s not a bad investment.

Another free alternative is putting your phone on speaker phone. It is much more healthier than having your phone right next to your head or organs. Limiting your time talking on the phone and texting are also other ways to reduce your radiation intake. Also remember to never sleep with or close to your cell phone.
