Cell Phones: Danger or Evolution?

The cell phone is an incredible object. But it was so “smart” from its beginning?

As a science fiction fan , I read many science fiction books . But one of them attracted my attention . It was a book that was supposed to be SF , but it was just an ordinary story for me . No science fiction !

I started to read it and i discovered that this was an old SF story . On those times , cell phones were just a dream . Nobody could imagine itself carrying a phone in their pocket and speaking while walking or … driving ( not recommended xD ) .

Many people think that science fiction stories will remain science fiction forever . But they are wrong ! The cell phone transformed an incredible SF story into an ordinary story .

Well , the cell phone didn’t looked like we know it today . It was first patented in 1908 by Nathan B. Stubblefield. Its invention was a wireless telephone . Later , the phone became smaller and smaller until it became a “smartphone” . A few years ago we couldn’t imagine a cell phone with a touch screen incorporated !

Watching movies or listening songs on a phone was still a dream . But companies like Nokia evolved the smartphone dramatically . The phone became a needful object , especially for teens . Could you think of one person who doesn’t owns a cell phone , even if it is an older model ?

Still , there were a few people who didn’t like the idea of a cell phone . They brought solid evidence that mobile phones emit electromagnetic radiation . Since then , the great companies producing cell phones have started to find new ways to reduce the radiation level . Besides , people have to find ways to protect themselves too !

As cell phones evolved , peoples privacy has reduced . Cell phones are considered a danger by many people and companies . That’s why they felt like they needed a set of rules :  phone’s can’t be used in airplanes , schools etc and are banned in lockers , for example , if the rules are broken .

The cell phone became a part of our life and humans world wide accepted the risks and its advantages by buying them .

Who knows ! Maybe in the future cell phones will cook for us !
