Censorship 2
The language allowed on the radio teaches children disrespectful words and actions.
Many songs, specifically in today’s most popular hip-hop genre are offensive, and children learn that this often sexually demeaning behavior is acceptable.
Besides the radio, there are other ways to obtain music. CD’s can be bought in stores, and while CD’s considered “mature” are labeled with a parental advisory, it is still easy for children to obtain these products. Tighter controls need to be placed on the purchasing of these materials for minors. Also, it should be kept in mind that these parental advisory stickers do not limit the freedom of the artist, but educate the public about the content of what they are listening to.
The media is also another influential matter in which censorship arises. Movies and Television are also easily accessed and negatively effective. Research shows that babies as young ad fourteen months will copy actions they see on the TV screen. If babies are able to pick up violent or other bad behaviors through the media, imagine the effects it can have on older children, teens, and young adults. Also, children develop idols, such as professional athletes, while watching TV. They begin to copy their heroes’ language, dress, and behaviors.
If these “heroes” are allowed to have their actions shown on TV and in movies, children will be more prone to these behaviors. Many people argue that parental controls can be used to protect children. In our world today however, children are more technologically advanced and can get pass these blocks.
The largest and most negatively effective topic that should be strongly censored is video games. Studies show that 79% of American children now play video games on a regular basis, and children between the ages of seven and seven-teen play for an average of eight hours a week.

no. its the parents who let them listen to it. they are you kids, as far as the law goes… you are responsible for their actions so just teach them the difference between right and wrong. the government should have to teach your kids, thats your job.
pro censorship sucks

no, the kids will listen to what they want to and they can always find ways to get around to do what they want. There is no need in putting blocks and passwords on computers, television, or making them listen to rap or rock. They will go to a friends house and look it up on the internet, watch it on tv, or listen to it while their parents are not around. The parents role is to disapline their children not run their lives for them. Most kids are going to be “hard-headed” like most of us today. Most teens today don’t listen to what their parents listen to. For example, my dad listens to country music, and I listen to rock, rap, hip-hop.
you are NOT correct sir

hate to tell you but 1/2 of your information is truly bias and has no true facts.
i could post something saying “74% of kids between the ages 7-17 are on the computer for more than 20 hours a week” but with out citing my facts how can you trust that?
oh and guess what
its the parents job to control their kids. and if kids can get passed blocks that just means the parents are dumba**es.
im 17 and my parents trust me enough to let me make my own choices. ive been listening to rock, rap, alternative music since like 5th grade. and i grew up watching “R” rated movies because i proved that i was mature enough to handle what was in them, or just flat out had no idea what was going on.
and you know what? im not screwed up. im still christian, i get good grades, i dont do drugs. and my friends are the same way.
kids who are censored their entire lives are the ones that become messed up because they want to rebel and do crazy sh**
honestly if parents wouldnt rely on the government to control their kids the world may just be better off.
