Cheapest Cell Phone Ever
The point of this article is that the recession makes us do crazy things. Like quit using cell phone providers and go prepaid. Rich people haven’t heard of it, but now you have.
If you don’t know about this, then let me spill the beans. This is the cheapest cell phone ever. The Tracphone is prepaid so you just put $10 or $20 dollars on and get 30-60 minutes. Ever see those little green cards in the grocery store. They kind of look like gift cards or itunes cards? Yep. That’s how people like me can afford a cell phone. No this is not a commercial , this is the lead in to my story about rich people and poor people.
I just recently upgraded to a better model of tracphone. And I was excited. Yes I’m still on the ghetto tracphone service, but it does more stuff. So I went to work and showed it to my bosses and they were like “What carrier does it use”. I responded Tracphone/. Again they asked. As though I wasn’t speaking english. As though they had never heard of a prepaid phone before. And maybe they hadn’t.
So what’s the deal? Are prepaid phones only for terrorists or mafia hitmen? Are they only for tv shows where they need to have the main character use a phone with a funny ringtone for one episode . Then they thow it away after production is over? Nope. Prepaid phones like the Tracphone are for cheapo, ghetto people like me. People who can’t afford to pay fifty dollars a month for unlimited this and that. Texting, roaming, three year contracts and other crazy stuff. I’ll tell you that I don’t need that kind of stress in my life. I’m too lazy to deal with cell phone companies. I don’t need unlimited anything. I need to be very limited. As in $10 worth of limited.
For my Tracphone I just rode the bus out to walmart, paid $10 dollars and activated it online. It comes with 20 minutes already on there. Then anytime I want to I can put more minutes on there. The only catch is that you can’t call anyone. Ever. Well you can, but you can’t have a leisurely conversation. You can’t call the dmv and wait on hold. You can’t chat with Grandma and catch up on the family gossip. It’s just like that commercial where they speed talk in the auction language. If you get this phone, your people have to be on alert that you will hang up on them if they exceed the alotted time. All of my friends know only to call if it’s an emergency. They know that I will check the caller ID, and email them a response more or less than two hours later (based on how much I like them, and how important their call is to me).

You should try metro PCS. they have affordable phones and offer unlimited service at $30 a month per phone, or $20 a month if you’re on a family plan.
