Child Abuse in The Community

Child abuse is a thing that shows up in every way of life. It doesn’t matter whether the person is living in a life of poverty or getting everything they want from rich parents. What can someone do to make things easier for these children? Its touching to see someone go through this life. It makes people want to help, but most don’t know where to start.

I have seen this situation too many times before. As a matter of fact, before writing this article, I have witnessed child abuse to the highest extent around 30 minutes ago. Today is November 19, 2009. Its now 11:19 P.M and I witnessed some horrible parenting within the neighborhood.

A child was kicked out of his home because he didn’t fight someone who was trying to attack him. The child was only 14 years old and his aunt threw everything in his name out the door. I felt bad for him so I decided to let him stay with me for a little while until we can think of something to do for him. By me being only 19 years old I can play the big brother role for this young man, hoping that these life experiences don’t turn him into someone that society hates. Everyone isn’t bad, its the things that some people endure during life that can bring them into destruction.

He is a good kid. My parents disagreed with letting him in, but for us to be Christians that would be a very cruel thing to do to just let this teenage boy live on the streets. Crooked cops roaming the area looking for any reason to get the arrest. Cops around here are in it for their careers, not for the sake of mankind. So I feel its my duty to do what his parents and other immediate family isn’t doing right. Would it be wrong for me to try to be a big brother for this young man?

Child abuse makes me sick to the stomach. I defended him, even though I did not know him that well. If something bad happens with him, I am ready for it. Whether or not he is a bad kid or not, no one deserves to be treated like this. This is whats known as child neglect, and I will not contribute to this.
