by Each day children all around the world are being sexually abused. Is there enough being done to protect these children.
Why Do abusers sexually abuse child?
well this is not an easy question to answer as different abusers give different reason’s for their disgusting behaviour. Some have claimed it’s because they love children but how can you hurt a child like that if you love them?. Others have claimed that it’s because they don’t see age as being a problem and that you should be able to have sex with who you choose. What ever the the reason the abuser gives for their actions one thing is clear they sexually abuse children to give them self’s sexual gratification. Which ever way you slice it they know what they are doing and they know it is wrong. There is no excuse for sexually abusing a child.
What classes as sexual abuse?
An adult indecently exposing their genitalia to a child. Getting a child to sit and watch pornographic films with them. Getting a child to make a pornographic film with them. Taking indecent photo’s of a child. Getting 2 children to pose sexually together and taking pictures of them. Touching a child’s genitals. Getting a child to touch their genitals. Making a child engage in sexual activities. Not forgetting rape.
What group of children get sexually abused?
There is no Pacific group that it happens to. Victims come from all walks of life, all backgrounds, It happens to both females and males, rich, poor, black or white. This is the same with abuser’s.
Some studies show that 15 to 25% of women and 5 to 15% of men were sexually abused as children. But this is not a defiant amount because many people who have been abused as children never reported it at the time and then just carried on keeping the secret to them self’s. The longer victim’s keep it to them self’s the harder it is to tell anyone. But then it’s who do you tell?. It’s not an easy conversation to have with friends or family child sexual abuse is not something that is spoken about.
For those who have been abused as children never told anyone at the time because they where living in fear. Fear that what if no one believes them. Fear that their abuser will come and get them if they do tell. Abuser’s will often use fear to control their victim’s they will tell them anything to keep them quite all so they can carry on abusing the child. Children will often believe what they are being told by their abuser because they do not understand that they can be safe.
