Colin Powell on Obama: “He Has Lost Ability to Connect”

Powell uncertain if he will support Obama for President in 2012.

Over the weekend Colin Powell offered up some praise, as well as plenty of concern, regarding the Obama White House.  In a lengthy interview given to NBC’s Meet the Press, Powell gave clear indication he believes President Obama has become distracted with too many policy change attempts, when in fact he should be focusing on America’s unemployment numbers “like a razor.”.

While Powell maintained he still believed Obama to be a “transformational figure” and that he admired Obama’s ability to pass such significant legislation as healthcare reform and finance reform, Powell also indicated those two accomplishments may have been more of a distraction to the greater concern – the economy.  He went on to suggest that Obama has seemingly “lost the ability to connect with the American people.”

Powell further indicated he still considers himself a Republican, and that he is undecided if he will support Obama for President in 2012.
