Connecticut Decriminalizes Marijuana

Connecticut decriminalizes marijuana.

Wow. That’s all I can say. Actually that’s not true. WOOOOOOOOW. There we go.

In a 90-57 vote, Connecticut voted to decriminalize the substance known as marijuana.

This is an amazing breakthrough in the journey to decriminalize marijuana. I personally am for the decriminalization of marijuana simply because there are more harmful substances out there that are more harmful. I don’t smoke marijuana in case you’re wondering.

Now the next step for Connecticut would be to try and make some money off of this. I’m talking about taxing marijuana. Think about it. Now that marijuana is legal, the money that drug dealers make can instead go to the state to help pay off the debt.

Just to clarify, the state did not decriminalize marijuana completely. They simply made it so that you won’t get into trouble for carrying small amounts of marijuana. And if you’re underage (under 21), you’ll face a punishment similar to that of the possession of alcohol. So it’s not completely decriminalized, but it’s a start.

I am a beer drinker, but at one time it was a crime to drink alcohol and that did not work. Alcohol is a drug, too.

Interesting. I wonder if marijuana will still be as profitable to dealers now that it is legal, or as appealing to users now that it is not forbidden.

Is that small state trying to make a name for itself like it did something big? I always knew they were full of quacks.

Humans do have a tendency to break the rules, so better reduce the rules and extra controls.
