Corporal or Diplomatic Child Upbringing?

Tackle about what seems to be the right way kids to be disciplined.

I was brought up by a typical asian family which corporal management is the only way to decipline their children. I still remember how my father and mother would spank me with their hands, broomstick or belt whenever I made mistakes or become stubborn and naughty. I also remember how my aunt would command me to squat tiptoed with a book in both hands. Since this incidents in my life don’t leave negative impact to me, I did not make it a big deal nor something scar in my life as child psychologist says.I am not that in favor with corporal punishment but we should put limitation or just in moderation. I think it is also depends on the childs behaviour. First, implement diplomatic approach and if not effective then a little punishment will do. I think it doesn’t matter wether it is corporal or diplomatic, as long as the child is not badly hurt in terms of physical and emotional. It depends on how you will do the approach.

I agree, a good smack upside the head never hurt anyone.
