Creation or Evolution?
Creation or evolution is a question that can break up families and friendships.
Creation or evolution has always been a question of controversy. Religious family members or best friends can become your worst enemy if you question the church or their religion.

Exactly what do people mean when they say they believe in God? Do they mean a supernatural power that lays down laws about sex and human behavior, punishes violators with fire and brimstone, and raise people from the dead? Do they believe only those of their religion will be saved from hell? Do they believe God is a stern parent who whips his followers into shape with punishment and rewards them with good fortune? According to research done by Baylor University about half of those who say they are religious do believe that. Half of those who say they are religious say God is not punishing and they believe in eternal life for those of other faiths.

On the other side of the coin, evolutionist say fossil evidence for evolution is solid. It would be entirely secure even if a single corpse had never fossilized. We don’t need fossils. The case for evolution is airtight without them. Not a single fossil has ever been found before it could have evolved. Evolution has passed every test. A gap in the fossil record called “the missing link” a confused meaning implied that the Darwinian theory was missing a link between humans and other primates. We do have a supply of fossils linking modern humans to the common ancestor we share with chimpanzees. In a large number of fossils, every one of them is an intermediate between something and something else.

A major evolutionary change doesn’t happen over night. It’s a process of millions of years. Nobody can say monkeys are descended from frogs. Although monkeys and frogs do share a common ancestor. You can say the same about all animals. Every one of millions of species share a common ancient ancestor. Just as we share a common ancestor with monkeys. No modern species is descended from another modern species. No animal gives birth to an instant new species.
So is either party right, or will our scientists learn some day far in the future an answer we humans have never suspected. Will it be so far beyond our imagination that our poor minds cannot even comprehend the wonder of it?

The Bible’s account of creation is very accurate and proves that there is an intelligent designer behind every creature that exists on this earth.

Nice one Ruby! The modern catholic church is lately changing its point of view toward science and trying to accept evolution theories as a part of creation realizing that creation theory from 19th century doesn’t fit in modern society. Some parts of the church and believers are still resisting cooperation of church and science and still believe in medieval interpretations of Bible despite the Vatican decisions. The most highly educated believers that I know are accepting evolution theories without compromising their believes. When I was in college there have been several nuns and priests in my generation that were studying archaeology, history, anthropology etc.

Awesome, this is a question that I ponder daily. I do pray and believe in God but there are a lot of missing links that for me are unanswered, but that is alright. I believe in heaven and hope to get there and if I do I pray that all the answers are there.
Life is short and must be enjoyed, to be worried constantly about our after life, and fearing everything we do or anyplace we go that is not living its existing. Learn a little and move on.

Attention-grabbing article Ruby! I asked my Mama about this when I was little and she just told me that GOD created everything (and I left it at that)

There are messages in DNA and scientist says there must be something that send the messages. There should be many researches, whether it is creation or evolution.

The subject of so many debates. I really do not think either side of the coin even attempts to understand the others views….much less practice a little tolerance for others beliefs. Sad.

For the most part of it, what we need to know is already inside ourselves. We only lack the means to retrieve it. As I often point out, like looking for a pair of spectacles we’ve already worn. A great wake up call, Ruby. Indeed we could get to Mars and destroy another planet but never get to ourselves.

A thought provoking one. As a preacher, I do believe in creation, but when this topic is brought to the table, the only response I always give is : “Ok, let us respect others views”

The Bible teaches that the “god of this world” is the “Deceiver” and he has done his job. I have to borrow the last line of your article which does shed some light…

One time a Jehova Witness came to my door and I got into it with them about evolution. They insisted we had NOTHING in common with other animals and so on – even gave me a book on it, saying for example we had nothing in common with horses (foolish of them to even pick a mammal) anyhow I said we had more similar than not- pretty much the same bones, we have lungs, heart etc.. they got so frustrated with me they never came back. I would have argued we had just as much in common with frogs, fish, or whatever. (even though fish have gills and we have lungs the bone structure co-reates closely its amazing, even most fish have pelvises.

“Will it be so far beyond our imagination that our poor minds cannot even comprehend the wonder of it?” Can we hope to see a follow-up article detailing a mind-blowing new theory? (Hope so!)
This was a great article. Random related fact: I was reading recently that we share 60% of our DNA with a banana!

thank you my friends for your opinions and your support. We can all agree to disagree peacefully. After all we all have our life experiences to draw our conclusions from. What we have been taught, learned in life, and what we feel in our hearts is good enough as long as we harm nobody.

I meant to add that I think so much will be learned in years to come that to those living then, our ignorance will be laughable. We may not have the slighest clue.

indeed our knowledge is always growing. I for one was glad to be able to learn both theories, and have settled for the one most likely (if not definately) true. Of course that is evolution.

this is one of those things where someone is either right or wrong, it doesn’t matter how much “evidence” you have; you can’t disprove evolution because it cannot be physically proven but you can never disprove God because there is no way to be disprove in the end evolutionists don’t want to believe in him because he gives rules, and we humans don’t like rules because it interferes with our sex life, out morals, and who we should be.
Let me just tell you this, evolutionists believe that nothing came from nothing, and then we came from the resulting nothing. If there is no God, then there must not be a right or wrong, so we might as well kill everyone in our community and rape everybody in our school because we are nothing just a senseless result that will eventually disappear. What’s the point of living if nobody cares? If love doesn’t exist because we are just here to mate and have children and DIE? Put some sense into your life because in the end, heaven or no heaven, we are going to die and if by any chance there is a hell, oh gosh i wouldn’t like to go there.

The question was never evolution or creation. The two support each other in all aspects. Evolution started from something just like the idea of God must have evolved from something else which we probably know not.
