British researchers have estimated that by 2050 the population of developed countries completely abandon smoking, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Scientists in the study found that each year the percentage of smokers is becoming lower. According to experts, if this trend continues, then on average by 2050 in developed countries do not remain smokers. In the UK in 1960 smoked the majority of the population, by 2008 this figure fell to 20%. Roughly the same percentage of smokers in Belgium, Finland, Norway and the United States. And in Australia, Canada, Iceland and Sweden – have already smoking less than 20% of the population.
At the same time, experts believe that the tobacco industry will be able to increase their profits in about 2020, mainly due to higher prices for cigarettes.
