Disabled Veterans
This describes how Veteran’s Affairs provides medical treatment to the wives of disabled veterans. The wives are covered by the Champ VA Health Care program.
Naturally it isn’t as much medical care the disabled veteran himself has to get.

Disabled Veterans Without Medical Care
Historically the Veterans Affairs department did not exist after World War One. There was no way to give disabled veterans any health care treatment back then. Many of those veterans got very mad at our Federal government. No veteran that had become disabled in World War One was given any medical care. The courage used in battle had to be used to to try to get along. Those brave men, who had survived in the trenches, were not given all the things that had been promised them. The veterans got together and held a riot on the edge of Washington DC. The government retaliated by sending some of the active duty army against the veterans to run them off. Why shouldn’t young men who have defended their country be given medical treatment for what ever wound was obtained on active duty?
Although I can not remember his exact name I’ll never forget that one of the generals in World War Two had been in that riot. He had just been a Lieutenant in World War One. In the second war against Germany the Army treated him like a criminal in order to hide his potentials from their foe.
Disabled Veterans Rehabilitation Care
Because of that riot the department of Veteran’s Affairs existed when World War Two ended. That gave all the disabled veterans the required medical treatment. Veterans Affairs is such a large government department that it covers education as well. Draftees were given post enlistment shot at earning college degrees. Disabled veterans are now offered education under what is known as vocational rehabilitation. Thirty years ago a disabled veteran could go to college and study computer science. The spouses of disabled veterans were given some health care treatment along with their husband. How can a disabled veteran always make enough money to pay for his spouse’s medical care?
