Do People Still Drink and Drive?
Honestly, how dumb is this practice. ..
Reading the paper online today and heading the news is a piece about how local celebrities are committing to no drinking and driving. Or at least not drinking more than two drinks if they choose to drink and should they be responsible for driving anywhere.
I only have one thought on the matter.
How dumb are you if you need to public vilification via advertising to make you NOT drink and drive?
My family have been guilty of drinking and driving on many occasions and I can’t say I supported or even agreed with the practice. I’m prepared to shell out and even be ripped off by taxi drivers in order not to be the one who drank and drove and killed or maimed someone else or myself. I remember what it’s like to lose someone to untimely death and even if you’ve never been down that road surely you would still think to yourself . . .
“Hmmmm. I can’t quite see. I can’t quite walk straight. I think I will NOT drive at this point.”
The stupidity in the act and the sheer nonsense of it surprises me to no end. What’s worse is that my tax dollars are probably going towards some of this public campaigning because there are some people who are that stupid. Who think it’s more important to save their dollars from the taxi driver than it is to save a life. Who don’t want to leave their car somewhere and would risk having that and their own bodies mangled because it’s important to take your car with you when you leave an event.
Honestly. Who else isn’t sure about why drinking and driving is such a bad idea? Come see me. I’ll sort you out.
