Do You Think It is Ethical to Turn Your Brother in for a Murder?
Would you turn your brother in for murder?
This question certainly poses another quick question: If you knew your brother murdered someone, could you live with yourself if you didn’t turn him in? You must always remember, murder certainly is not an accident…it is murder! Murder is wrong and I would have to turn anyone who admitted they murdered someone into the authorities…I would in the blink of an eye and not think a thing about it. No-one should walk free if they’ve committed a murder, but if they’re innocent, they’ll remain innocent until prov-en guilty.
In my opinion, I would respond by answering a definite “yes” it is ethical to turn a brother in for murdering someone and if they made a confession they did it. If I didn’t turn him in, the guilt would eat at me until I would turn my ownself in for knowing he did it and I didn’t turn him in. I would feel as though I had a part in it when I may have been miles away from the scene at the time. No-one should ever protect a guilty person, because we have to live with the consequences.
If we turn a blind eye to a murderer, we are allowing the person to get away with murder, and whose to say, they won’t turn around and commit another murder and then there would be another guilt hanging over our head. It’s hard enough in this life because of all the moral wrongs we live with in our society, and if we hide a person who is an outright murderer, it’s my feelings, we’re only feeding their outbursts, angers, and they will repeat offenses over and over again.
A person does not change their outbursts of anger unless they seek medical help because most of them feel they do not have the problem the other person does. Every time this anger builds up in the person possessed with anger, it only keeps building until they explode, and they keep abusing other people. Even-though they may be your brother do you really think for one minute they would hesitate to kill you too if their anger was raging? They would pull the trigger in a heartbeat!
No, it would not be easy to turn in your own flesh and blood to the authorities but it is the “right” thing to do. If your brother declares his innocence, hire him a lawyer to see that he is properly defended and turn him over to the authorities. It’s wise to remember, not all people who are accused of murder is a murderer, be sure you get the right story from your brother’s mouth and let him know, if he is innocent, you’ll support him all the way.

I would have to turn my brother in. If a person was close to their brother that would make it very difficult. Hopefully this will never happen.
