Domestic Violence and Religion
by It seems to me that religion supports domestic violence.
I have had experience with religion supporting domesticviolence. I was told by two Jehovah’s witnesses that I needed to putmy family back together because the end of the world was coming! My ex-husband beat the living tar out of me, slapped me in the ear(I can’t hear out of it) and tried to kill me. This happened eight years ago in Bradley, CA. I am a survivor! I am in a great relationship and have a better relatonship with my children who are pretty much grown.
Domestic violence and religion coincide top me. Instead of a minister or priest telling you to get out, they make you stay in the relationship. Mostly for the kids sake. It is proven that if a man or woman beats their mate, they also beat their children. It is in the best interest to yourself and to your children to get out of the situatiipm. There are organizations and support groups that can help you get back on your feet! Don’t give up on yourselves and don’t give up on your children.
I am aware that sometinmes it is hard to get out but no matter what, there is always a way out before you wind up dead. If you stay, you and your children WILL DIE! Do what you cn to have a plan in place. Have some money stached away with someone you trust as well as your car keys and any food or personal belongings you treasure.
Domestic violence happens to everyone. All races, all creeds,all classes. Itshould never remain a secret. Many men and women rely on their pastors to help them with solutions. If they are married they ALWAYS tell the person not to break up their families. It is scary to me that this is happening. If someone reading this is helped by this article, and their life is saved, I will be happy.
I am asking evryone to reevaluate your religion. Your religion or beliefs will cause you harm. They are enslaving your mind to tell you that you are a bad person if you break up your family. You aren’t a bad person, you are saving yours and your children’s lives! Get a divorce or leave your mate and be independent and happy!
