Effect of Global Warming
EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING ON HUMAN LIFE.
Global warming is the heating process in the atmosphere due to warm the plants from cold temperatures, so plants can survive the winter. Sunlight entering the earth will be retained by the ozone layer so that light coming into the earth is a ray that is not harmful to living things and the ozone layer will maintain the earth’s temperature to remain stable. Incoming solar radiation to the earth in the form of short waves that penetrate the earth’s atmosphere and then transformed into long wave when it reaches the earth’s surface. after reaching the earth’s surface, some of the wave is reflected back into the atmosphere. But not all wavelengths are reflected back by the earth can penetrate the atmosphere to outer space because it was intercepted and absorbed by the gases in the atmosphere are called greenhouse gases. Natural events is known as the greenhouse effect.
Problems arise when human activities lead to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases significantly, thus causing the accumulation of heat in the atmosphere that affect global climate system. This causes the rise in average temperature of the earth, known as global warming. Global warming in turn causes climate change, or rather changes in several climatic variables such as temperature and rainfall.
Six types of gas are classified as greenhouse gases, among others:
Carbon dioxide (CO2) from combustion of fossil fuels (petroleum, coal, and natural gas).
Methane (CH4) is derived from the rice fields, weathering of wood, landfill waste, industrial processes, and exploration of fossil fuels.
Nitrous Oxide (N2O) from agriculture or fertilization, Transport, and industrial processes.
Hidroflourokarbon (HFCs) from refrigeration systems, aerosols, foam, solvent, and firefighting.
Perflourokarbon (PFCs) from industrial processes.
Sulfurheksafluorida (SF6) from industrial processes.
Climate change caused by global warming will cause negative impacts, including melting of ice sheets, especially in the north and south poles resulting in rising sea levels. As a result, the volume increases and the surface ocean rose about 900-100 centimeters so that it will cause the sinking of coastal areas and small islands.
Climate change will also cause a shift in seasons. The dry season will last longer and can cause dryness, so that the forest fires increases. Forest fires will cause the CO gas that is harmful to human beings come in many forms and in the human respiratory tract while being breathable. Buildup of CO gas in the respiratory tract will cause shortness of breath, so that harm our health. This shift causes the monsoon season arrived early with the intensity trend of higher rainfall, causing floods and landslides. Flood is a flood of water that hit a particular area. The overflow water can endanger human health, because in it there are microorganisms that cause disease, so it can degrade the quality of water and food supply crisis. Decline in water quality and food supply crisis led to the emergence of diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, and diarrhea.
Climate change can we anticipate one of them with adaptation (adjustment) to climate change that aims to minimize the impact that has happened, anticipate the risks, while reducing costs due to climate change. Things that can be done to adapt to, among others:
Understanding the movement of wind and weather conditions before the move.
Adjustment of cropping patterns that follow peruahan season.
No digging in the soil of the sloping hill or mountain slopes to prevent landslides.
For those who live near the beach, so be aware of tidal sea water.
Cultivate a clean life and get rid of trash in its place transform and prevent flooding due to blockage of water flow.
Make bath or pool to accommodate the rain and make a well catchment.
Efforts can be done to reduce the greenhouse effect so that it can slow the rate of global warming are:
Civilize like planting trees and using live plants as a fence.
Felling of trees should be followed by replanting the same tree seedlings in much smaller lots.
Avoid burning trash.
Do not open the land by burning.
Save energy.
Try using public transportation vehicles and environmentally friendly fuel.
Treat your vehicle engine periodically so good vehicle exhaust emissions.
For the industry, always monitor the waste exhaust gas emissions.
