The population is multiplying more and more everyday, but have you ever sat back and actually realized what it really effects?  I have been doing a little research and was stunned at what I had actually found. I hope you enjoy and maybe learn something new!

  • 1949 the worlds population was estimated to be 2.5 billion people in 1998 the population was 5.9 billion and fifty years from the estimated population will be around 9.3 billion people.
  • Grain production is dropping by 0.5% each year due to lack of new land and new development in irrigation.
  • Cropland has been increasing but still can’t keep up with the population and the reduction of expanding from housing.
  • They predict by 2025 there will be a billion people in major cities with a scarcity of fresh water.
  • Since 1967, the marine consumption has rose 72%, estimating that by 2050 the annual catch per person will only be 16 lbs.
  • Meat production in the United States has increased by 150% since the 1950’s, putting a strain on grain production. Also, meat production has increased twice as fast as the population.
  • Estimated consumption of meat in 2050 to be 513 million tons a year as to our 211 million tone a year.
  • 75% of the loss of the rain forest was used in the 20th century, effecting the climate, rain production, advancement in global warming, erosion control, and greenhouse effect.
  • Use of paper products has doubled since the 1960’s.
  • Over half of the worlds marshes and swamps have been destroyed, effecting habitats and the reproduction of many species and the extinction of many more.
  • The burning of fossil fuels has doubled when put up against the population, also accounting for 75% of the worlds carbon emissions.
  • Population is expected to increase by at least 93% in Asia, and the Middle East in the next fifty years
  • By the year 2050 there will be an estimated 1 billion people homeless…this will be due to the over population, lack of the labor force, water scarcity, and lack of funds for education.

With everything that you have read here, does it make you wonder?  Where will you be, what will you eat, are you going to be able to go outside without roasting or freezing to death due to the lack of a sufficient ozone?  Most importantly, what kind of pain and suffering will our children have to endure?

Informative article. It’s quite scary when you’re confronted by the facts.
