Embargo Still in Effect

The embargo that the United States put on Cuba in 1960 is still in effect.

The embargo that the United States put on Cuba in 1960 is still in effect. The consequences of the embargo were that it was not allowed to transport any products out of Cuba to the US, and while there has been talk of President Obama possibly revising this, it still isn’t allowed to take Cuban cigars or rum into an American state. In addition to that, American citizens are also not allowed to go to Cuba on vacation. A way to get around this is to fly via Canada or Mexico – or even Europe – however, don’t forget that your passport will be stamped. And when this is spotted upon your return to the US,  it might be a problem.
