Many problems have been bugging us and sometimes we can hardly think of the real situation in our environment, anymore. Some may reason that they won’t be the unfortunate ones who will witness the worst conditions in our environment, thus, it would just be easy for them to do as they please. It is easy for them to throw garbage, use inorganic fuel, waste gas during driving and spend their money on petty things. The environment needs us but it seems that instead we are worsening its conditions, without thinking of the effects of our acts.

A survey of an organization in the US strongly supports the idea that people are putting less attention and priority to his/her environment. It was said that maintaining personal economic stability and domestic policies are the top among the list of priorities. There has also been a decline on the percentage of people who believe that they can make a difference in their environment, a slight 15% decrease from 45%-30%. Even Democrats, who should be on the same side with President Obama, said that protecting the environment from global warming is not their concern. As a recall, one of Obama’s programs are geared towards protecting the environment from global warming and having ties with other countries for them to join forces in their cause.

This statistics could mean that we are tired of thinking about an environment and we are relaying the problem to other experts like scientists. This could also mean that we have been skeptic about what has been reported in the television, science journals and the newspapers. Well, if your skeptical, then maybe you should know that among 3500 scientists in the use, all of them said that the worsening conditions of global warming is so real and the predicted effects are calculated accurately.

This should make us think twice. We may not live that long to witness the end of our environment, but our children’s children would. Let’s save the environment, if not for us, but for them.
