Environmental Issues
There are many environmental issues around the world.Humanity is the cause for these issues.
There are many environmental issues that I feel are significant in my city. The one
that I find to be the biggest would probably be pollution. I live within twenty miles of a
major town that has at least twenty or thirty refineries. Out of all these refineries, not one
goes with out producing some kind of emission that produces pollution. There is a very
high bridge that goes into the town where the refineries are located. As I drive over this
bridge, I can see a yellow haze across the sky that goes on for miles.
The causes are from human values and environmental ethics. We depend on these
refineries to produce many things that we use in everyday life. These refineries produce
fuel, plastics, metals, and other chemicals that we use in different ways. Cutting trees
would be an issue of environmental ethics because we are clearing our precious forest for
our own use to make lumber and paper. There is a new issue that has become an
environmental ethics issue and it is the growing of corn to be cut for ethanol, which is
used in fuels. It seems that we find ways to save our fossil fuels but turn around and use
our food supply to make fuels.
Conclusion
It seems that we need these products for our everyday life, but we put our
environment in danger to produce these things. This creates many environmental issues
for my town, many cities, and the world.
