Eschatology Update: 2012 and Beyond
by Many Christian eschatology scholars do not believe that the Mayan Calendar has any prophetic significance. The year 2012 will come and go just like all previous years while the world continues its decline towards the coming Apocalypse, which will occur sometime in the future.
Eschatologists assess that global events will continue to decline during 2012 and beyond because of the many sins related to sexual immorality, abortion practices, and growing international hatred of the Israeli state. In 2011, the Joplin tornadoes and the Japanese earthquakes demonstrated how God responded to national and international attempts to divide Israel’s land. If the nations continue their anti-Israeli objectives, pro-abortion programs, and homosexual agenda, then the world will continue to decline geo-physically, economically, militarily, politically, climatically, and environmentally during 2012 and beyond. These actions may accelerate world events to towards the Lord’s Day of Wrath.
Mideast War
Prophecy analysts believe that war will irrupt between Israel and the Islamic community within the next few months or years. The Arab uprising will result in the Muslim Brotherhood taking over many Arab states. The Islamic states around Israel will form an Islamic caliphate with the immediate war plans for Israel’s destruction. Islamic states will want to destroy Israel and make Jerusalem this newly created caliphate’s capital. The move to create this union will accelerate during 2012 because any military action taken by Israel will also accelerate this Islamic union.
Jordan is under tremendous pressure because the Muslim Brotherhood is gaining International support. Jordan will be the key in this caliphate system because the Holy Scriptures show that Jordan will be Israel’s leading enemy (Obadiah 1:1-21 and Psalm 83). Jordan is going to turn against Israel and this change may happen during either 2012 or shortly afterwards, which will be a dramatic sign that Mideast war is coming.
Prophecy analysts judge that war between Israel and Iran appears imminent. While Iran continues its nuclear weapons development program, the likelihood for war increases between Israel and Iran. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) will have to attack and destroy Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities and installations before Iran nukes Israel. This Mideast war may unify the Islamic community against Israel and could facilitate the caliphate formation overnight.
On 1 January 2012, Obama signed into law severe economic sanctions against Iran. These sanctions will be effective during early March. Iran declares these sanctions are acts of war and stated that it will close the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, which will damage the world’s oil supply. The US leadership says, it will never permit Iran to do this action. Therefore, the potential for conflict appears likely in 2012 or shortly afterwards..
