10 things every teenage girl should know in order to survive those strange years before adulthood.
Every teenage girl needs to know certain things in order to assure her future and stay healthy. Be smart in how you live your life and make good choices.
1. Your emotions are going to have a lot with the decisions you make. You cannot help it. It is the change your body goes through from child to adult and everything is going to effect you. Remember to try and take emotions out of the way you make a smart choice. Do not let your emotions make the wrong decision.
2. Every teenager hates something about her body. One of the great things about being a teenage girl, is the fact that it will be the fastest section of your life to outgrow. Thank goodness for that. Your body will continue to change and as you grow into adulthood, it will be easier to change the look and the way you look at yourself.
3. Do not judge yourself by what you see on TV. Most of those bodies are stuffed, fluffed, sucked, slimmed and starving to reach the stage they are. They are not living real, everyday lives. However easy they make it look, they are lying. It is their job to stay as thin as possible, even if it is a risk to their own health. It is in their contract and the media has set a certain standard they want. People outside the media field do not live in the same way. Eat, stay healthy and enjoy your good life.
4. Protect yourself. Do not be afraid to fight back. If you are in a bad situation then leave. Do not let someone hurt you. Do not let anyone convince you they hit you for your own good. You are not to be hit be anyone! You always have the right to hit them back, even if it means getting arrested. But they will not hit you again.
5. You can choose to get married, stay single, get divorced, become a nun, become a striper, have lots of children, live your life childless or anything else. If it is not illegal and you are fine with the decision then it is ok. Getting married, staying single or the choice of children are a personal choice. Do not let religion, family expectations, traditions and name calling affect your decision. It is your decision and affects your life.
6. Take a class and learn to defend yourself. Learn how to fight smart. Fighting back can include learning how to fight physically, but it can also include how to read a situation, leaving the situation and learning to trust your own feeling regarding danger. Learn a few fighting techniques that work for you and use them to protect yourself.
