Excuses
A brief discussion on society’s lack of responsibility.
I question if our society is full of “excuses”, ones to stop people moving on or taking control of their own life. Excuse: An explanation offered to justify (a fault).
As a society people seem to receive compensation for different excuses, though that is not the case for all. I see how much the government pay in Disability Living Allowances and other benefits and wonder how much society feeds their “excuses”!
We also live in a blame culture, but only in certain circumstances can blame ever go one way. There seems to be a lack of people taking responsibility for their own lives, in stead we are encouraged to exploit our selves through a circus world of the media and television. We are witnesses to the intimate details of people who are promoted through their negative drug fuelled life styles, yet hypocritically choose to punish others.
I listen as another young person is killed and I wonder how much of this is through sheer frustration at the excuses they may have to act the way they do, frustration at society as it seems the only way to get attention. How much of it is due to frustration as they have not been allowed to take responsibility, they have not been encouraged to let go of blame, I wonder how much is due to their “excuse”.
Through out our lives, we could observe some people not taking responsibility of themselves, their life on a daily basis.
As a society the “excuses” need to be put to rest and responsibility needs to be taken. Responsible: having control and authority. We are all part of a society; we need to stop with our own “excuse”!
