Fatism: Like Racism Except It Isn’t a Real Issue

Don’t promote being fat as a good thing. If people get any fatter the world will plummet into the sun.

What I know about fat is this: they are lazy, they’re annoying, won’t lose weight a healthy way and like making up issues that aren’t there. The issue being this century’s civil rights movement (60’s) or gay rights (80’s) except the only true stance that makes it an issue is that someone used that “ism” thing and then placed it at the end of “fat” to make “Fatism”.

This doesn’t draw a good line in the sand against the truly redefining points of the 20th century that brought prosperity to the human race (cue Tears in Rain music from Blade Runner for some emotional impact). Is this what we get now? Just some fat people claiming they’re being discriminated because of their weight or as they call it “Fatism” from the misunderstanding healthy public who aren’t overweight, so therefore lack the ability to understand the struggle it is to be fat. Fuck! You could write this shit down and turn it into some sort of emotional rollercoaster made-for-TV film based in California or somewhere that has loads of thin people to demonise into a fat hating public.

Why is fatism or fatophobia (I totally lay claim to that one with the “o” and “phobia”), not a valid kind of “ism” type thing? Because with weight you can actually do something about or if you’re fat claim you’re happy and be done with it.

What brings my act of fatism onto the fat public came from watching “Fat and Proud” or something involving the word “fat”. The whole program was dedicated to hearing fat people either claim they’re happy with themselves or how the public has so many rampant misconceptions of the fatty lifestyle. One point of the program had a prominent figure in the fight against fatism go on and on about the misconception of what the fat going public is like. She’s someone who has the ability to stuff words down someone throat when she asked “So you think I’m a slob?” to which the teenager replied “Not you, but just someone who doesn’t take care of themselves”. Somehow the fighter of fatty injustice took this as a personal insult and said “So you think I don’t look after myself”.  If you see footage of it yourself you’ll get what’s actually happening.

So now that this short tirade on “fatism” is done to death (or left partially alive on a beach of razor blades and ocean of vulgar) I shall leave.

Thought of the Day: August 13th:

Read one of the first time-travel pieces of fiction that pretty much shouts in your face “we’re going to save the future regardless of how much we change in the past” instead of the timed and not likely to happen “we’re going to save the future while being careful not to interfere with the past”.

I find this article rather unamusing and uncalled for. For someone to go on about heavy people this way is to show how ignorant of a person you are. I myself was a heavy person that could never lose wight no matter what I tried. THIS IS NOT IN ANY WAY ASSOCIATED WITH BEING LAZY!!! However it took the help of surgery to lose the 140 pounds that I have kept off for 5 years now. I have worked all of my life and am lucky to eat one meal a day. To say that fat poeple make excusses is appolling to me. It is medically proven that there is a fat gene that many people carry that greatly affects thair ability to maintain a healthy weight or even lose any amount of weight. For only one day I wish every jerk like you had to live the life that heavy people have to live. It’s amazing the cruelty in the world, just because a person doesnt look like a stupid movie star. It is people like you that only make thing worse for the person I used to be. The ignorant comments and claims only add fuel to the fire!! Don’t be such an ass people will always be different so deal with it!
