Finding Their Needs

Nowadays, the population of the handicapped people is becoming bigger. We can see them in the street, down town area, in the church and everywhere. Some of them can be seen in the sidewalk of the street sleeping and so dirty. Their clothes are shabby and they don’t have their family with them. We can see some of them begging money for them to eat and to survive the struggles in life. But some of them are victims of those syndicate men. Instead of using their money for food, the money will be turn over to those bad men. That’s why we should help them to become helpful members of the society.

Finding ways to help them is really the challenge here. And one way of helping them is by bringing them to institutions or foundations for handicapped people. Here they will learn new things where they could sell it and be productive in the community. Here they will be given the right education and information about their rights in the society. And also, we can participate in the programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. By joining these programs, we can share our knowledge to them and give them the confidence and determination they need.

Handicapped citizens are also human. Our Almighty God also created them. So we should love them, give them respect, care for them, and most especially offer our help to them. Giving them the support and strength that they need can give them the willingness to do good and trust in their own selves that they can do everything.
