Finland’s Final Placement for Nuclear Waste

ONKALO is a research place and when its ready, Finland’s nuclear waste will go there.

ONKALO is a research place, which is into nuclear waste final placement site. Whole country’s high-active nuclear waste are going there that means Loviisa 1&2 and Olkiluoto 1&2&3(when its ready). When its ready it will be 520 meters and it costs 60 million euros. Now its 400 meters deep. Its build by Posiva Oy. The research will end 2011 and then starts the real final placements mining. High-active nuclear waste is almost from the power plants. When it been final placed its closed to copper and graphite cast iron capsule. Final placement is meant to be started in 2020 and it will take 100 years.
