Fizzy Drinks Should be Banned from Schools
Pepsi, Coke, Mountain Dew and Lift are just some of the 1000’s of drinks sold around the world to schools. Yet one of the biggest questions asked about schools these days, is whether or not schools should be allowed to sell them. People argue and debate over this issue every year and the answer never changes.
Everyday 1000’s of fizzy drinks are sold to students; people blame it on the school but is it really t their fault. No it is not. Everyday 1000’s of students buy fizzy drinks. It is their choice and can never be changed. Schools may have them for sale, but it is not a requirement for the students to buy them. They don’t force your kids into the tuck shop at lunch, and tell them to buy a fizzy drink or they’ll be expelled.
It is amazing how many parents get the idea that it is the schools fault their kids are obese. Only to end up 5 minutes later at the dairy buying them a pie, sweets and even fizzy drinks. Many bad diets are started at home by parents buying the food they believe shouldn’t be sold at school and kids becoming accustom to it. They end up thinking if I can have it at home why cant I have it here.
There are also other things that contribute to becoming obese. The type of food you eat can make all the difference as well, if you eat fatty foods you have to do exercise to burn of the calories. Sitting on the couch, playing the X-Box or the computer is not exactly what we would classify as exercise.
The point that schools are trying to get over to these parents is that it is their kids choice whether they go to the tuck shop or not. It is their life if they want to hurt their body the fine there is nothing we can d about it. It is their life not yours.
