Frustrated, Leaving White House: Christina Romer, Top Economic Advisor
Christina Romer is leaving the White House. She claims she wants more family time, but there is more to the story than that.
Christina Romer is a top economic adviser to the Obama administration and she is resigning.
Before joining the current administration, Romer was an economics professor at the University of California, Berkley. Romer is currently the chairwoman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
It has been said that Romer is frustrated with a lack of direct communication with the president. Apparently, she is in disagreement with others, who do have direct communication with Obama.
Romer’s resignation news comes with the new July jobs report. Romer has made official statements saying that she will be returning to her former position at UC, Berkley. She also claims that she is resigning because her child is entering high school this year, and that she would like to spend more time at home. Hmmm…if that’s the case, why did she take the job in the first place?
I don’t blame her for jumping this sinking ship, but, there is no need to be nice about it.
