Gangs

An analysis about street gangs in our communities. How to prevent them and why children join gangs.

Gangs originated around the 1800s. It began when english colonies started groups of peole of the same cultural and ethnic backgound. They supported each other like a family does and became closer than ever. The idea of gangs spread greatly within the 1900’s. Groups everywhere began to form in search of financial benefits, power, protection, and respect.

New York Gang OutBreak

Manhattan was the first city to announce they had an extreme gang problem. They became an outrage. Different races formed groups to support each other. With disrespect to one gang there led problems and controversies. One member sought problems with another member of a gang and obviously this lead to problems. If a kid picked on your little sister, you would usually comfrot that person and back up your little sister. This is the philosophy of gangs. No matter what loyalty was proven and protection was a must.Gangs Brought a tremendous incline in murders, rape, and thefts.

Why Do People Join Gangs?

  1. Belonging: feel the need to be accepted by there peers thus they make friends with sometimes the wrong people. The want a sense of belonging.
  2. Sometimes a connection at home with the parents and other sibblings isnt good. Many boys and girls that reach out to a gang are in search of someone to love them and protect them. (Love)
  3. Family Association: Often times kids join gangs because a family memeber is associated or affiliated with one. In that case a child may feel like its ok to hang out and be apart of it.
  4. Protection: Teens feel the need to be protected. If a child is having problems with a rivalry gang they may seek to join a gang for protection and safety.
  5. Money: All Children enjoy money. Gangs provide a fast and easy way to make lots of money illegally. Gangs do everything from packaging illegal products to drug dealing and much more.

Prevention..

Children are very precious individuals that require alot of love, attention, and care. Without these essential things they may linger out and find themselves getting involved in gangs and illegal activities in replacement of the love they arent recieving at home. Children associated in athletics, clubs, and good community organizations like church and key clubs will be less likely to join a gang. With the help of parents, family, and friends around the community positive influential aspects can reach each child and may lead to better children and safer communities.

Unfortunatlly the ad company is rude and a bully in popping up to cover the first sentence, but I did like what I was able to read. I would not buy anything from a company that is so rude.

I came back and read the article without the ad jumping in. I wrote an article on gangs myself, if you’d like to read it you can find it on my profile. Young people have to go through so much. It is a difficult time in their lives. They are having hormonal changes, and they want to grow up fast. They don’t realize how quickly they can ruin the rest of their lives. I’ve been writing to inmates for 35 years. Some of them are doing life, and were in there since they were only 16 and 17. It breaks my heart hearing their stories. Our society and leaders do not have any concern for what young people are going through. Everything is always about money to them. The bible says that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. That is why there is so much evil around us.

Nice article. Parents must be available for their children. Children need structure and good role models. They need you to be involved in their lives to direct their path.
