Gas Price Increases No Laughing Matter

Prices at the pump are no longer a joke, nor are they humorus.

The time has arisen to employ desperate measures.Price increases in fuel costs far outweigh wage increases. Our economy was actually on an upswing when the oil companies intervened with their price increases. If they are allowed to continue ,America will see a true depression. It is time to stand up,speak out,and do what has to be done to keep this from happening. We as Americans, tend to take what ever comes our way,as long as we are not placed outside of our “comfort zone.”

The time has come to get up out of our comfort zone, and do what is right.Speak up,work harder at making changes, carpool, walk, take buses.Learn to start out earlier to arrive at your destination. The oil companies have made billions off of people in a hurry. It’s time to start taking those billions of dollars back, take a stand, find alternative forms of transportation. We have been much too reliant on convenience.

If nothing else phases you ,think about this:

Minimum wage is $7.25 per hour.At 40 hours a week, this is $290.00 minus taxes ,social security, maybe $240.00 take home pay.Housing on the average is $550-600 a month. Then you add utilities, groceries, which can be another $500 a month, and then Gas,must have gas to get to the job and back, another $60 a week.Add it up my friend:550.00,500.00,240.00,put it together, you come up with——$1240.00.What is wrong here. You are $280.00 into your next months budget,if you are a single income family on minimum wage.

So how do we fix this ,carpool, walk, ride bikes,be creative in your thinking.Instead of pulling up to the gas pump, and filling up,buy just what you actually need.BE MINIMAL  IN YOUR FUEL PURCHASES.This is not going to cause immediate action, but the impact will slowly hit the BIG GUY.In the meantime,we need to push harder for alternative fuel type vehicles.I know in our technologies,we have a form of propulsion that does not rely on fossil fuels. Our President, when elected said he would push harder for alternative fuel, and fossil fuels went down. Now,it seems as though these oil price increases have been back burnered, left to burn as high as they want, and scorch our economy as deep as they choose. This is our country too, don’t we have at least some say as to what we can endure?Isn’t it time to make the BIG GUY with the oil company say UNCLE?
