Why are we in the US paying so much for gas? What the heck is going on?

Okay I know there are most of you out there who are fed up as I am about the rising cost of gas! It’s pretty mind numbing and for most of us with families it’s downright frustrating.

Well ,the one thing that I have found is to switch to something that is very big in Europe. Scooters or vespas.

These little mopeds are very inexpensive to maintain . And the gas, well lets just say I can fill my tank for about $1 to $2 dollars and I’m set for about three to four days.

Now all of the scooters have different milelege and tank size but a good resource is the net. You can go to eBay and find some on sale for about 1000 to 2000 dollars. Now. grant it they don’t have a lot of room but, when gas prices reaching the 5 dollar mark you’ve got to make some sacrifices.

But the strain on the economy and with everything going on in the market this is. just in my opinion, is a way to lessen the hold and the burden of choosing food or gas to get to work to pay for the food. It’s something I’ve found that has helped,

I personally, have a older model. It’s a 1987 Honda Elite 50.

I am right now having a little problem with it starting, due to the fact that the previous owner basically didn’t take very good care of it. But in all fairness I bought the scooter for 100 dollars from a former co-worker.

But it is a great way to get around and I love it.

If anyone wants to save money on gas this is a great way. You can’t really carry a whole lot but hey it’s worth the trouble. This is a great idea for college students. And those of us looking to lessen the hold that gas prices have on us all.

There are several places to get one. The internet eBay, your local motor sports dealer and just ask around. I’ve found that looking into flea markets and or the paper, classifies in your local paper is a great way to go.

There are many way to find these scooters or as they call them in Italy Vespas. There are many of these vehicles and the are other means of transportation in your area. There is the public transit(Bus), and there are other services, such as safe ride services available to help. But for me in the area that we live in there isn’t always a whole lot of options and these services are not available in some remote areas. So , we make due with what we can.
